| Susan Burgess is an At Large member of the Charlotte City Council in North Carolina. Mrs. Burgess serves as the Mayor Pro Tempore. She will become the President of the NC League of Municipalities in October 2007 during the League’s 100th anniversary year. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the National League of Cities. Mrs. Burgess is a recipient of a platinum award from the Leadership Training Institute of the National League of Cities. In addition, Mayor Pro Tem Burgess is on the Board of Directors of Women in Municipal Government. She formerly served on the Council of the Institute of Youth, Education and Families, the steering committee for Transportation, Infrastructure and Services, the Democratic Governance Panel, and Chaired the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education. |
